Election 2010; Now What do We Do?

The election of 2010 has been billed as anything but business as usual. No matter whom you listen to or what news outlet you prefer or if you just listen in on conversations going on at the beauty shop or grocery store everyone has an opinion of just what this political cycle means. I certainly am no different. I have my own opinions as I am sure you do, but as I was leaving the voting booth yesterday, I had a different feeling than I have had at any other time since I have been voting. I have watched the polls over the last several months, I have been sorely disappointed with what I have seen over the last two years and can’t say that I have been happy with everything that has transpired over the last six years or so, politically or economically. But as I left the precinct I still had the patriotic feeling that always accompanies the freedom to vote but in addition to that I felt a deep since of responsibility. It took me somewhat by surprise, but I begin to explore it. Was I voting my faith and conscious or was I voting out of anger? Was I voting for republicans out of disdain for the democrats or was I thinking tea party when I should be thinking of my children’s future? I believe that our moral fiber, that thing that is born in most Americans, has been tampered with over the last few years. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I do believe that an element with an underlying agenda lives and breathes with-in our government to see America fall from its place in the world. This hidden agenda is aimed at the US to lose its independent ideas, become more like the rest of the world and move to weave itself into the fiber of a global system. In the old days that would be seen as a surrender. And that is what I believe has happened in the last few months especially. I think this liberal, socialist leaning, Marxist educated group has overplayed their hand, believing that the election in ’08 was a green light to take this country headlong into social oblivion, into a place billed as a type of utopia yet only exists  in some manifesto written many years ago, tried and tested but never succeeded. I think this overplay has pricked the heart and soul of the American people. Forget Democrat, Republican, liberal, conservative, tea party or what ever you call yourself, one thing that has made us what we are today, in addition to being blessed by God, is the fact that we lay all individual differences aside when we are threatened. I seriously believe that for the first time many, having not paid much attention to politics in the last several years, came face to face with what felt like a threat from their own government. This great nation was founded on good moral principle, not perfect, but good. Our founders endeavored, not to create the perfect government, because with man that is impossible, but to set in place a system that can best govern when foundations of morality exist. Laws were put in place to keep morality at the forefront. Moses appears on many buildings in our great capital for a reason. Scripture can be seen on most statues and memorials around the town as well. All of this was laying the ground work for what would keep this government moving in the right direction. We the people, of the people, by the people and for the people, must remain loyal to the cause and be dedicated to the purpose in order to leave our children and grand children the same blessing that we inherited. Therefore we must revive the foundation, we must revive the truth and let it govern us. We cannot progress past our foundation. Many great governments and Kingdoms and cultures have vanished from the face of this great planet only to be visible when the dust and dirt is brushed away by an archeologist. Most of the written history gives some insight to the demise; they fell from with-in. Man left to himself will gravitate to carnality. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life will affect all of mans decisions one way or the other if there is no willingness to submit to something much greater than man, a loving and just God that has provided a mandate for life. That is the responsibility that I believe I felt as I left the voting booth. Now what do we do? And today, now that the balance of power has shifted, what do we do? We should do what we should have done long ago; move to revive the true source of our good. Stand and be counted among those that will not sacrifice the morality of their conscious for the gain of power and influence. Look back at what made this country great so we can remember where we go from here. I leave you with a statement from Benjamin Franklin to the Constitutional Convention on June 28, 1787;

In the beginning of the contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the Divine Protection. -- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a Superintending providence in our favor. ... And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance. "I have lived, Sir, a long time and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings that "except the Lord build they labor in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel:”

Rambling Rant

Well, its Febuary, 2007 and its cold.  The Democrats have control of the House and Senate, many Republicans seem to be running scared, Obama has come from no where and is a Media Star and now has his sights set on the White House.  Hillary is her usual self, presenting a committed attitude of win at all cost.  President Bush must feel like the loneliest man in Washington.  What is a conservative suppose to do with all of the news today.  I expect any day to hear Wolf Blitzer, from the situation room at CNN, report that Laura Bush has now recanted her position and involvement with promoting the War in Iraq.

Poor Scooter Libby is feeling just about as neglected while standing trail for perjury, or what ever they call lying to an investigating officer while that same officer is investigating a crime or an alleged crime, that later to be determined was no crime at all.  And, poor Scooter was never accused or named in the original crime that turned out to be not a crime.  The best that I can figure, he is guilty of not remembering a specific piece of a conversation that at the time was unimportant or at best just that, conversation.  I am sure I would be on trial  too if some officer ask me about something I discussed a month ago let alone a year ago, and wanted something specific.  Later to find out that it was my brother that told me that and not my sister, Wow, now I'm going to jail.
You couldn't get a Liberal Democrat to believe a shred of intelligence against Iran, N Korea, Al Quieda or anyone that might pose a threat to the US, but they would stake their lives on the testimony or reports of the likes of Joe Wilson or anyone that hates Bush.

Guess who said this: American soldiers that died, were "wasted" in Iraq. 1. Osama  2. Obama
If you guessed #2 your are right.  I imagine you'll only hear that particular report on the Fox News network.
That wasn't a very presidential comment, especially given the status Mr. Barack Obama has been awarded by the main stream media; (but then thats how the MSM feels)
Well, they all may not feel that way, some may take the side of Bill Arken of the Washington Post, that our military men that are sacrificing their time and lives to make us all safe and secure are nothing more than "mercenaries".  (Webster calls it; those that wage war merely for wages)

Thanks guys for all of the support that is coming from our new government majority and their spokesperson(the MSM)  I somehow knew all of the talk of non-partisanship and getting things done was merely the same rhetoric that always exudes from those bent on a place at the front of the line.  No one person or one party is ever going to make a complete difference and make everything better.  It will ultimately take the majority, at least, working together for the good of the country. Ah ha, there's a good line, "for the good of the country".  Can people agree that attacks on our on soil is not good for this country?  Can we agree that it is evident and obvious that the terrorist are out to kill us, by their own admission, for no other reason than they hate us?  Can we agree that this "war on terror" must be waged for our protection?  Can we agree that this war is different than conventional wars of the past and must be waged as such and in context to the threat?
I do not want to see another tower fall, or worse, but I am not convinced that a "mushroom cloud" rising in the sky over Washington would make a difference in some of the hearts of those in charge now.

I believe when President George Bush received that somber whisper in his ear while reading to a classroom of children, that he realized in a moment, that his Presidency would be defined by the acts and reactions of that dreadful day.  I believe that he rose to the occasion and has made decisions based on his strong convictions and has maintained those convictions throughout.  He has also said on many occasions that this mandate that he was handed on 9-11 will continue long after he is gone.  I believed it when He said it the first time, and I still believe it today.  I, like many others, were charged to see the majority of the politicians stand together, in the aftermath, for quick and decisive action.  But I never remember anyone saying that it would be easy or that it would be short or that it would all be over soon.
Make no mistake about it, just as the Presidency of George Bush has been, and will continue to be defined by terror, so will the jobs and lives of those that make decisions now and in the future.  For all of those spineless so-called leaders on both sides of the aisle, this threat will not go away.  You can hide you head in the sand, or give vibrant speeches on how you were duped into voting for the war or you can stand looking strong and cocky ranting on about how you were right all along by opposing this war from the beginning.  But know this, time will tell the truth without spin or respect of persons.

I love my country and it's freedom.  I just wonder how it really looks to those elsewhere when they read or listen to all of the Headlines.  I find it hard to believe that anyone outside this country could think for a minute that we truly stand together on this issue today,  that some of our news agencies are American, that some of our political leaders actually have the best interest of our country at heart.
With all of the goofy stuff we make into evening news headlines, while ignoring much that could help pull this country together, I do wonder myself at times who really has the good of the country as a mandate.

Vigilance

It is imperative in this time of world wide crisis that we as Americans stand together, united not only with our own countrymen, but those that share a belief in righteousness across this planet.  Why is it so difficult for those that share a common belief of liberty, life and freedom to see the grave threat posed by the Islamic Fascist and their ideology.
This threat will not go away.  It has grown through centuries and with each passing decade it closes in on the crescendo of its agenda, world domination.
It is this unyielding focus and unwavering fortitude that will propel this islamic terrorist culture to be led blindly into the final battles that will be fought on this earth.
There is also a dangerous and ignorant belief held by many countries and by many in our political arena here at home, that says we can wait this out.  If we don't get involved maybe it will go away or maybe when all of the fighting is over and the dust clears we will be victorious by default.  Wrong.
In the coming days and years it will become increasingly clear that there is no neutral side.
Neutrality will be swallowed up by the fascist.
It is imperative that we maintain our vigilance, to be ever ready to strike at the heart of evil for the advancement of good while there is yet time.
